Last week saw me finally get around to eating at Meat Liquor and yesterday I finally made it to Lucky Chip. And after just one bite I was kicking myself that it had taken me so long – because Lucky Chip’s burgers are something else!

Lucky Chip was worth the wait!
19 FebFinally Getting Round to Meat Liquor
12 FebWhen it comes to London’s two most famous burger vans (Meat Wagon and Lucky Chip) I have a pretty poor run of luck. Every time I’ve tried to go visit them something has got in the way and i’ve ending up cancelling. When Meat Wagon was in it’s Meat Easy stage I managed to queue for about an hour and make it inside before the rest of my group turned up late, didn’t fancy the now two hour queue so we ended up eating Thai down the road. Then there was the time that I arrived at Netil Market to finally try a Lucky Chip burger only to be told they’d run out of beef!

Bloggers Lunch at The Ship
16 JanDespite living in Hammersmith for nearly three years, I never made the short journey across the river to The Ship pub in Wandsworth, and after visiting this weekend I now realise I was seriously missing out! But at a Bloggers Lunch (organised by Gail at One Million Gold Stars) I more than made up for lost time with a wonderful – and extensive – menu! Rather than writing a post, i’m just going to let you drool over some pictures of some of our dishes!
London’s Newest Street Food Burger
8 JanFirst there was Meatwagon, then there was Lucky Chip, could Mother Flipper be next?
Mother Flipper first started slinging their burgers back in December, so have only been around for a few weeks, but in that short time i’d seen enough pictures and positive tweets to make me curious enough to head down to Lewisham this last Saturday. You can find Mother Flipper in a Lewisham car park as part of the excellent Brockley Market (which has a fantastic selection of street food) 10am-2pm on Saturdays.
Chili for a cold day
20 DecFor me, when it’s cold outside there’s nothing better than a bowl of hot warming chili to make me feel better. So a few weeks ago when I was at the Chocolate Festival and it was absolutely freezing I was so happy to see Anna Mae’s had set up a chili shack and were serving up their Bowl O’ Red.
Is London’s best Pizza served on the street?
4 NovIn London the street food scene is pretty impressive at the moment, there’s a lot of people out there serving up great tasting food at really great prices. Even with the quality food that’s out there, occasionally I still get surprised with just how good some of the food really is. And earlier this week when I was down at ‘eat.st at Kings Cross’ I was blown away by a seemingly simple slice of margherita pizza from Homeslice.
Mexican Street Food on Dia de los Muertos
2 NovToday is apparently Dia de los Muertos in Mexico, otherwise known as Day of the Dead. It’s a day where families remember those who have died in the previous year and pay their respects – one of the ways they do this is by eating their favourites foods. So today seemed liked the perfect excuse for some of my favourite food. And as coincidence would have it the ‘eat.st at Kings Cross’ street food market (which is now running for three days a week with even more traders) was today the home to Luardo’s who were serving up their wonderful burritos.
Camels Milk Ice Cream
23 OctThis past weekend a little taste of the Middle East came to London, via Manchester, when the ice cream van Gingers Comfort Emporium unveiled their camels milk ice cream at the Experimental Food Society. This is apparently the first time this product has been sold in the UK and the milk has to be sourced from the Netherlands where Europe’s only camel dairy farm is based! As Gingers Comfort Emporium was only in London for two days, I made sure to head down to Brick Lane where they were pitched up, so I could give it a try before they headed back up North. Kimchi Cult on London’s Newest Street
21 OctYou might not be able to find it on a map yet, but Kings Boulevard – London’s newest street, is quickly gaining a reputation as a place to find great food. Specifically great street food. Since the start of October the guys from Eat.St have been running ‘eat.st at Kings Cross’, a micro street food market on Thursdays and Fridays, with a rotating group of their traders. And by all accounts its turned out to be a great success, with the local office workers flocking down to try something new for their lunch. Unfortunately for me, I work in deepest, darkest, North London and normally there’s absolutely no way I could make it down during my lunch break. But luckily today I had the day off, and I had to get a train from Euston which gave me the perfect excuse to head down and see what was on offer.
